Telford International Centre Security Department has been working with MAN Commercial Ltd since June 2021. MAN Commercial Ltd are a well-established security provider. They supply well trained, competent, and professional security operatives who not only represent MAN but represent Telford International Centre when on site to a very high standard. Over the last 2 years MAN have worked on various sized events held at the centre ranging from car shows, exhibitions, conferences, gala dinners, and trade shows. They also provide manpower during very busy boxing events and 2 high profile defence shows which are labour intensive, but they always deliver. The centre has a very close working relationship with MAN and regularly meet to discuss the event in hand and to formulate security plans. Recently TIC held a defence show where the Events Manager, Scott Broadway was on hand to meet, sometimes at short notice to discuss, implement and modify security plans to ensure security requirements were met. MAN Commercial Ltd are able to provide search teams, response teams, external response teams to deal with protest, suited SIA staff for gala dinners and awards, safety stewards and dog handlers when required. TIC have used all of these services. As a business working within the events industry, it is important that we deliver a high level of customer service. When MAN Commercial are working for TIC, this is exactly what we get. MAN provide a high-quality service every time. In my 10 years as the Telford International Centre as the Group Security Manager I have used various contracted security companies, but MAN have been undoubtedly the best. Nothing is to much. I've been working as a correspondent in London for almost 20 years and for the first time in all the coverage I've done here I have to congratulate your company for its absolute professionalism while working near Westminster station under very trying circumstances. The rain and the wind were torrential people were scattered everywhere wanting to go where they could not go. Your staff were working seriously hard without being rude and helping people to find bathrooms and places where they could stay safe; their professionalism and air of calm were second to none. I felt protected and that gave me more peace of mind to carry out my work of sending live images from London to New York for more than 5 hours without interruption. The customer had surgery that night and had stents fitted. The medical team were informed that the quick thinking of staff saved the gentleman. Apparently 15 mins longer before getting medical attention and he would not have made it. The gentleman’s wife has been in touch and praised the venue and security teams.

Our company runs a storage location on behalf of the building owner. We have been operational since February this year and since then have benefitted from the excellent work and support of Catrina, MAN Commercial security officer. Catrina has always been incredibly friendly and clearly takes the safety and wellbeing of all the people on site seriously and acts with care and compassion. Catrina always ensures that our team are greeted each morning and given a radio so that we are in contact about vehicles arriving. She often checks in on lone workers over the radio to ensure their wellbeing (this is in addition to our own internal lone worker check-in procedures), she also tells us that she watches on CCTV whenever visitors and transport are on site to ensure our safety and wellbeing and is ready to react if there was to be any issue. As a manager, and responsible for those individuals working on site, I feel much happier knowing that Catrina is watching out for my team and is diligent in her work. She has clearly set the standard and clearly supports new colleagues to understand and support our team when she isn’t on shift. I am very grateful for everything Catrina does, although it may seem small, it makes a big difference to a remote working team and it is very appreciated. I am sure her attention to detail could get missed on the busy operational shifts but she shines as an example when the building is quiet and she is always there to greet us with a smile and a caring heart. Please pass on our thanks and I hope she can be recognised and respected for the work she does.

I wanted to highlight some excellent work by the CCTV operators over the last month or so. We have 60 car parks to monitor with an average of 6 or 7 cameras per site. Over the last month, a number of thefts have been spotted live time, and at times prevented thanks to the observational skills of your operators. When we think about the number of car parks and cameras, it really can be “needle in haystack” stuff. We have just had one in the last 15 minutes that has been prevented thanks to the team here which resulted in a police car being smashed into. Your guys have been working hard to spot these offenders in the act and have done so many times, so I feel it is only fair to acknowledge their efforts. Whilst most of this happens on days, the night shifts have been working hard also and spotted some large-scale fights and even a burglary in process.

I would just like to highlight the fact that the prompt action by your guard on Thursday night this week avoided a situation developing outside the site. Shaun contacted the police immediately on seeing a situation developing with two groups of opposing youths out side the site. The police attended within a few minutes and a potential fight was avoided and the antagonised detained. Whilst the incident was not directly on our site it does give us confidence that the night guards are alert to activities in and around the site

Last night we had a flooding toilet on floor 5 which threatened to flood through to the landing carpet. I thought that I would drop you a note to commend the Man Commercial staff which were on duty on Saturday 17th March, who had to deal with a site wide power cut lasting 35 minutes and the aftermath of this. The two staff who have been especially commended to me are Arslan and Florian, both of these security officers performed well beyond their normal duties dealing with customers and tenant questions and were instrumental in keeping the site operational both during the power cut and getting the site back to normal afterwards. I would be grateful if you could pass on the thanks of the whole of the Man Commercial team at the Brewery, but especially the two above mentioned security officers who are a credit to your company.
