Man are pleased to anounce that we have passed our 4th year annual SIA ACS audit in June. We are now audited until June 2011. The 4 day audit took place at our headquarters and was carried out by our assessing body isoqar ltd. It comprised of site visits, office audits and full internal/ external audits. We would like to thank our qa consultants Global QA for there vaulued support and assistance. Our ACS score improved by 90%.
Also in June we covered Lady Ga ga, Black eyed peas and Jay z at the LG Arena. We also covered the One Day International Cricket England v Australia at LCCC. We covered 5 days at Royal Ascot and the Epsom Derby. Our Staff worked day and night for the Download Music Festival Plus we also covered silverstone and the Green Day concerts at the lccc. Finally we supplied a team of staff for the Boxing at York Hall, London. We also supplied staff for rugby school party, Waseley School prom, Construction cover for Thomas vale construction and TCM ltd.

May was a very busy month for MAN with events and shows. We supplied staff at Siverstone, Plus at the Lg Arena/ Nia we covered the General election polling station, Rhiana, Black eyed Peas, MMA Event, Rod Stewart and Lady Ga Ga concerts We covered the Solihull Porsche corporate event in may , On the key holding / mobile response side we covered Greypaul Maseratti in Solihull, Paul Rigby volvo dealership,We also took on 24O Alarm response sites for Safe Estates ltd, Plus nurse escorts and alarm response for Nikaro .
On the static side we have started new jobs with Lawson construction, CLM Construction, Wates, Armoury Group and Birmingham City Council. We coveredRingside and backstage on May 15th at Upton park, West Ham united FC For Frank Warren Promotions big FightKevin Mitchell v Michael Katsidis . We also covered the ABA Finals at the york hall along with our regular friday fight night lookingafter the SKY TV Presenters. We also covered the prestigious SENI 2010 MMA Event on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30TH at the Excel Arena For Fighters inc.

Man Commercial Protection ltd pleased to announce our Senior Event Supervisor Kevin Webster has been promoted to Operations Manager, Kevin has worked for Man now for 8 years. Kevin will manage all our Events throughout the UK.

Man supplied staff at Aprils Aintree grand national festival for the 3 days , We have also supplied staff at the Lg Arena for Whitney Houston, Rammstein, JLS, Xfactor, Lady Ga Ga, Stereophonics, Crufts Dog Show, Dj tiesto, 5o cents, Premier league darts. We have supplied Boxing security at the Famous York Hall for The ABA semi finals and Finals, Left Jab Promotions and Steve Goodwin Promotions.
Man Commercial supplied staff in February for Frank Warren's night of champions at Wembley Arena also in march the british super middleweight title At the Echo Arena, Liverpool.
In the construction field we are delighted to have secured more work with Wates , lovells and Anglo Holt construction. We are looking forward to a busy summer with events already confirmed.

MAN Commercial Protection Ltd. have had an exciting start 2010 as we have been awarded the static guarding contract for the new Birmingham central library re- build. This state of the art project is being led by Carillion for Birmingham City Council and will last almost 3 years. The company is supplying static guarding, mobile response and live camera feeds to our 24 hour control room.
January has been a busy month for the company and its manned guarding section; we have been awarded new contracts with existing clients such as Lovell, Wates Construction, and Armoury demolition. We would also like to welcome back Thomas Vale a construction company we have worked with on several previous projects.
Our retail section has this month taken on two more Smyths toy stores in Walsall and Cardiff with more being announced next month.
MAN Commercial Protection Ltd ventured into a new project with DHL late in 2009 where the company were sending in specialist security search and survey teams to distribution depots to deal with loss prevention and general site security. This project proved to work well and as a result this has been extended to another site with a planned project expansion throughout the year.

MAN Commercial the Brand
The company has now received approval documentation to register its logos, company name and associated information as registered trademarks which will further protect the company’s interests.
It has become apparent that clients are expecting more of the security guard regarding roles and responsibilities, which has led the company to research client requirements and career development paths for all staff members. We have been trialling a career development plan based on health and safety training and first aid qualification which although in its infancy has been extremely successful. This month we have completed the training and qualification of 40 members of staff in the City and Guilds level 2 Security Practitioner course, a course with its foundation in health and safety knowledge and awareness as well as Emergency Procedures. In addition to this 20 staff have completed the First Aid at Work course and another 20 the CSCS qualification in health and safety for the construction industry. All of the training has taken place at the training facility with in the company’s new HQ which has also hosted seminars, meetings and training for the SIA, BSIA and UKCMA. |

MAN Commercial Protection Ltd. hosted a Security Industry Authority (SIA) training day at our head office facility. The training day was focussed on the use and issue of LDNs and was attended by representatives of various security companies who are part of the SIA Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS). The training day was part of a pilot scheme to inform companies of the correct legislation and procedures and the course will in future become part of the LDN process meaning companies will have to have trained representatives to issue LDNs. The day was a great chance to raise issues and questions concerning all aspects of the SIA in an informal environment.
The last few weeks have been extremely busy on the boxing circuit and MAN Commercial Protection Ltd. has been involved in some great shows.
On October 30th the company provided security staff for the Frank Warren Promotions show at the Liverpool Echo Arena and the following week at the Odyssey Arena Belfast for the Rogan v Sexton Heavyweight Clash. The month of November was also busy for other promoters and MAN Commercial Protection Ltd. supplied staff to the York Hall Bethnal Green on several shows including Left Jab Promotions and it was for Left Jab we covered an excellent charity night of boxing at the Tatterstalls Newmarket. The 4th December Frank Warren staged the a fantastic night of boxing at the Newcastle Metro Arena which saw the first defence by Amir Khan of his WBA Light Welterweight Title. The company were also asked to supply security to the British Boxing Board of Control awards show in London.
The company have continued with its contract to supply security to the NEC and NIA in Birmingham covering all major concerts including Kasabian, Arctic Monkeys, Pink, Beyonce, Muse and Clubland .
MAN Commercial Protection Ltd. have continued to grow its static contracts and this includes new contracts with Taylor Woodrow, DHL, Wates and Safe Estates.
MAN Commercial Protection Ltd has entered into a contract with Safe Estates, to respond to void property alarms across Birmingham. The company have specialised in the area of void property inspections with a variety of clients including Birmingham and Solihull councils.
DHL the worldwide logistics and courier company is a new client to the company and as well as providing manned guarding services we have teamed up with depot managers and their loss prevention team to instigate site and staff searches. MAN Commercial Protection Ltd are also supplying specialist guard dog teams to DHL at sites nationwide.
The company is investing substantially in staff training and qualifications, especially in Health and Safety. We have forty members of staff currently working towards achieving the City and Guild 1912 for security practitioner and twenty members of staff booked into sit the health and safety test for the CSCS card. In the New Year we aim to broaden the qualifications offered to include First Aid, Risk Assessment and Health and Safety courses as well as the standard security licensing courses.

MAN Commercial Sponsor the Taylor Woodrow 5 aside Team
MAN Recently sponsored Taylor Woodrow in a Football Tournament by providing them with shirts for the event.
The Event was a great success with many goals being scored!
IAAF World Half Marathon and the EDF Birmingham Half Marathon
This major event was held in Birmingham on Sunday October 11th and MAN Commercial Protection Ltd in Partnership with Firewalker Events was tasked with managing the entire security operation.
Both companies’ provided in excess of 300 staff each, manning road blocks residential parking areas and strategic points around the course. The staff were also deployed around the Broad Street area to look after athlete registration, media centres, stages and merchandise.
Although the manning levels were high the major concern of the operation was the deployment logistics, and getting each member of staff on position at designated times. So a fleet of mini buses were detailed to deal with this and throughout Saturday night and early Sunday morning all staff were deployed.
The race director carried out a final course inspection at 0700hrs and a few final adjustments the course was secured ready for the IAAF World Marathon.
At 0900hrs the elite women’s race set off on time followed by the men’s race at 0930hrs and then the Birmingham Marathon runners at 1000hrs. All went well through out the event and all races were completed without incident resulting in a successful collaboration of both companies staff.
Both Iain McCallister (Managing Director) and Craig Cullwick (Event Operations Manager) would like to pass on their thanks to all members of staff who worked on the event for the patience, enthusiasm and thoroughly professional approach to the their roles on the event.

Having settled into our new premises in July, August and September proved once again to be extremely busy. The events were still on going and there was increase in static and retail security contracts.
Our events manager Craig Cullwick had his hands full throughout August with music festivals and sporting events. The company supplied large numbers of staff to the following events;
SONISPHERE – A new rock festival staged for the first time at Knebworth, we supplied 65 staff a day to G4S supporting their security operation by providing our specialist response teams for the arena and campsite security and safety staff for the campsites.
GLOBAL GATHERING – Once again MAN Commercial Protection Ltd. provided security staff to the two day dance extravaganza at the Long Marston airfield in Stratford.

V FESTIVAL – One of the major events of the summer music festival season, and this year the company supplied 160 staff per day, carrying out a variety of tasks including bar security, campsite security, access control and as usual running stage 3 (The Arena).
August Bank Holiday weekend saw the company cover approximately 400 shifts over four varying events. We again supplied for Creamfields in Liverpool covering all the bars, arena response and access search areas. We all supplied a specialist team to deal with ticket touts and bootleg merchandise which proved to very successful. We were also supplying staff to Manchester Pride and the Matthew Street festival in Liverpool as well as response teams at Lancashire County Cricket Club for the one day internationals.
As we moved into September we were still on the road supplying specialist ticket tout team to Bestival on the Isle of Wight, again another successful operation. The company also took on the Bunkfest which is a large folk festival held in Wallingford Oxford as well as supplying security staff to the Coldplay gig in Manchester. We are now into the new football season and we have been supplying staff to both Aston Villa and Birmingham City. After the traditional break we are now back in the season of professional boxing and we have continued our relationship with the York Hall Bethnal Green and are providing for all their major events.
Static Security
We have now expanded our coverage with existing construction industry clients and have taken on a variety of projects for Wates Construction, Wates Living Space, Lovells, Inspace, and Thomas Vale. We have also had a number of new clients such as Solihull Health Care, Birmingham City Council, and Plumbase were we are supplying static security. As well as these we have also taken on three new sites for vertu motors in Worcester, Redditch, Basildon and Cheltenham.
Retail Security
This is an area which the company continues to expand in and have recently been involved in a large project for Swedish furniture stores IKEA. We have also taken on a contract to provide retail security to Smyths toy store in Birmingham.
DHL
We have recently been involved with trialling a security project for DHL, which involves a security team arriving unannounced at sites and carrying out random staff, vehicle and site searches and identifying site security issues. The company will then assist in developing site security policies and procedures and monitoring there introduction into existing working practices.

Professional Security Magazine’s Roy Cooper visits MAN Commercial Protection Limited - a well established and highly regarded security company with vast experience in all areas of the industry. They supply fully trained security officers throughout the UK on a daily basis. As a company they are SIA Approved Contractor, and have been members of the BSIA since 2005. Managing Director, Iain McCallister, has over 20 years experience in this industry.
The company was formed by Iain and his father in 1993. They understood the need for a company to be offering all aspects of commercial protection; and the need to offer such services in a trustworthy, professional manner. They work with the police, councils, the country's leading security bodies and training organisations. The last few months have been extremely busy for MAN Commercial Protection Ltd. with the planned relocation of the office and the start of the main music and sporting event season.
As a preferred supplier of event staff to G4S Events, we have supplied over 180 members of staff covering more than 500 shifts at events such as Oasis (Heaton Park Manchester), Download 2009 (Donnington), and Take That (Old Trafford Cricket Club). This weekend (10th-13th July) the Company will be supplying 120 staff to T in the Park at Kinross Scotland.
The Company also supplied 40 staff per day to Showsec International for the Download 2009 festival.
We have once again successfully supplied staff to assist in the running of Oswestry Town Councils summer music event and the same for Solihull Borough Council. Theses two events we have now been supplying for several years and has led to an excellent working relationship with both Councils.
We have continued to provide security staff to Frank Warren Promotions and have recently completed shows in Belfast, London and two in Glasgow as well as supplying security staff to Sky Sports on all their boxing shows. On July the 18th we will be providing security for the Amir Khan World Title fight at the MEN arena.
Our relationship with the York Hall London has been further cemented and we have supplied staff for a wide variety of events including Boxing, Thai Boxing, MMA and other private functions.
As the contracted supplier of security to the NIA and LG arenas in Birmingham we have supplied for numerous shows including, Girls Aloud, Nickleback, Pink, Beyonce and many more.
MAN Commercial are pleased to announce that we have achieved the British Standards 18001 in Health and Safety and 14001 in Environmental Health. This involved an immense amount of work for many staff and has seen all our health and safety systems change. The result is that our new policies and procedures should improve the end service to our clients with staff training, risk assessments and more robust quality management systems.
Since the implementation of licencing the security industry has seen many changes and recently new qualifications and standards have been introduced. MAN Commercial Protection Ltd. are committed to achieving these new standards so we have now under the direction of Skills For Security commenced the security practioner program a new NVQ based qualification for all security operators.
With the first staff all ready registered it is our aim to qualify all members of staff within the next year. This in conjunction with the above standards that have been achieved should improve the service to existing clients but assist us in marketing an improved service.
The Company have moved on with existing construction industry clients with us now manning four sites UK wide for Taylor Woodrow as part of the TESCO refurbishment program. We have welcomed new clients such as Inspace, and broadened our portfolio with Wates, Carillion and Lovells.
It is an exciting time for the Company with new office premises, improvements to quality management systems and desire by the management team to further expand and improve the business as a whole.
Once the office move is complete there will a staff incentive scheme devised along the lines of employee of the month so watch this space for further information.
